I have studied and taught economics, and strongly believe we need to re-think it.  Writing Creative Destruction helped me to explore how economics fit into the wider world, providing the social and moral context that is absent in much economic discussion.  I hope you enjoy the story, which starts among people whose history has forced them to recognise the difference between wants and needs. I won't tell you where it ends up, but I hope you enjoy getting there.
